From the first public Odyssey Alcatraz swim of 2023 to the launch of our Marathon Swim Training Program, a lot is happening behind the scenes. Let’s dive in!
Tuesday Evening Swims are Back!
Odyssey Berkeley swims are coming back to Tuesday evenings starting March 14. Bring your sense of adventure and wetsuit to the Berkeley Marina at 6pm. Tuesday evening swims will begin at 6pm every Tuesday until May, when it moves back to 6:30pm.

Marathon Swim Training
Odyssey Marathon Swim Training is now available! Join our coaches, including Coach Conny, to prepare to conquer some of the world’s toughest marathon swims.
Packages include a detailed training plan, dryland/cross training, weekly calls or in-person meetings, access to Berkeley swims, technique check-ins, access to one six-hour training session and feeding, and training and advice on the following:
Building a positive mindset
Nutrition while training
Feedings
Cold water acclimatization
Safety
Injury prevention
Logistics around the swim itself, such as selecting your support crew, what to bring, and much more

The 30-minute session costs $35, and the price of the call will be put towards program fees if you move forward with a training package. Upcoming Events
The water temps and fun here at Odyssey are rising. As mentioned above, Tuesday swims are back, giving you two opportunities each week to join us in Berkeley for open water swims.
The first public Odyssey Alcatraz swim of the year will take place on May 13. As of March 10, there are still spots available in this swim. Register here.
From May 13 -- August 5, there will be a total of five public Odyssey Alcatraz swims. Registration for all Odyssey Alcatraz swims is now open. Learn more here. Also, don’t forget to register ahead for the second annual Rat Race on 9/23!
Get Your Custom Odyssey Buddy Bag
Be safe in style with your own buddy bag. A buddy bag is a small buoy that increases your visibility, provides additional safety, and gives you a place to stash your keys and phone while you swim. We recommend using these or similar buoys at the Berkeley swims and will start requiring them for all Odyssey Alcatraz Swims.
