Upcoming Swims: Odyssey Open Water Swimming Fall 2019 Events
Summer is here and fall is just around the corner. After an exciting first half of the year here at Odyssey Open Water Swimming, we still have the majority of our exciting, challenging, and unique events yet to take place. Are you ready for adventure?
Whether you’re an experienced triathlete or just exploring open water swimming as a new hobby; we have opportunities for you each week of the year. Every swim includes assistance from our trained staff, comprised of coaches, kayakers, expert swimmers, guides, and others.
Here are the remaining Odyssey Open Water Swimming events for the rest of 2019:
Odyssey Alcatraz Swim (September 21)
Our third and last public Odyssey Alcatraz swim is almost here. The Odyssey Alcatraz swim is a two-mile crossing that begins just outside of Alcatraz Island and ends at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. Join us on September 21 for what will be one of the most memorable swims of your life. Register by August 21 to save $50 on registration.
Sunday Berkeley Swims
Berkeley swims are the best place to get started open water swimming in a safe and friendly environment. Throughout the entire year, we host Sunday Berkeley swims at 10AM from the Berkeley Marina. Swims are from .5-2 miles and a buoy camera will be stationed to allow you to take a #buoyselfie. Pictures from swims are shared on our social media pages.
Tuesday Berkeley Swims
During the spring, summer, and early fall, we host Tuesday swims at the Berkeley Marina. We still have two full months of swims left on Tuesdays, which include smaller groups than our Sunday swims. The schedule is as follows for the rest of 2019:
TransBay Swim (September 28)
We created the TransBay Swim as the premier long distance open water swim in San Francisco. Swimmers who join us will complete the eight mile crossing, which begin in San Francisco and ends in Berkeley. Swimmers will pass by Alcatraz Island, the Bay Bridge, and Treasure Island.
Bridge to Bridge Swim (October 26)
One of the most challenging swims of the year is the Odyssey Bridge to Bridge swim. You will jump in the water just outside of the Golden Gate Bridge and swim 6.2 miles to the Bay Bridge. This swim is for stong swimmers only and each swimmer will have their very own kayaker or paddle boarder accompanying them throughout the entire swim.
Night Swim (September 7)
Are you a night owl? Come out with us for our second and final night swim of the year! We will have a lighted buoy, lights for each swimmer, and safety support there for you. It will be a lot of fun!
