TransBay Swim: September 28, 2019
Welcome to the premier San Francisco Bay long distance swim! This swim covers about nine miles, from the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco to the Berkeley Marina. You'll get a spectacular view of our incredible bay, including Alcatraz Island, the Bay Bridge, and Treasure Island, and you'll have support from kayakers and motorized boats throughout the swim. You'll have the current in your favor throughout most of the event, making the nine miles feel more like five. Experienced swimmers only.
- In addition to the swim itself, registration includes an event t-shirt and a yellow silicone Odyssey swim cap.
- Eligibility: To qualify, all swimmers must be able to complete a two mile open water swim in under 1:30. Local swimmers can demonstrate this at a weekly Berkeley swim. Other who can't attend a Berkeley swim should contact us here: email@example.com.
- Save $50 if you bring your own kayaker or paddle boarder. Paddlers must be experienced and provide their own equipment, including a VHF marine radio. Enter the code PADDLEFRIEND when registering and email your paddler's contact info here: firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Save $25 per swimmer if you are swimming with a friend and sharing a kayaker or paddle boarder instead of the usual 1:1 ratio. Swimmers must stay together throughout the swim. We will still provide the paddler. Enter the code PADDLESHARE when registering and email the two swimmers' names to email@example.com.
